There are times when you may need womens health supplements to support your goals of fitness, health, nutrition and fat loss. Women have different needs to men at different times. There are certain times when a women will need iron supplements. At other times they may need calcium supplements. I am going to cover tha main ones needed. First and foremost you must understand that supplements are not a replacement for real food. They are most useful when there is a shortage of those nutrients coming in from yuor regular diet. If you are lacking in an area of nutrition, it would be wise to use womens health supplements.

1.Calcium, Weight Loss, Vitamin D and Osteoporosis

One of the more common occurning diseases is that of osteoporosis. This is a disease that weakens your bones and makes them brittle and easy to break. One of the contributing factors is a lack of calcium throughout life. Calcium is stored in your bones and if you do not get enough of this mineral through the food you eat, your body will get it out of your bones! The result is thinning bones. Reaearch has shown that calcium contributes to fat loss as well. It seems many people avoid dairy in an effort to lose weight, in the process, bones are weakening. I recommend calcium supplements as insurance against oasteoporosis. If you can get one with vitamin D in it, even better as vitamin D has shown to help with the absorption of calcium. This is not required though, as you can get vitamin D from direct sunlight, do not over expose yourself to sunlight if you don’t want to increase your chances of developing skin cancers.

Iron

One of the most common deficencies in humans is Iron. This can happen for many reason, but one common one is from excessive menstrual bleeding. Also many women avoid meat in order to lose weight not realising there are two types of Iron. There is Heme iron and non-heme iron. Heme iron is only found in animal flesh, while non-heme is found in plants and dairy. The body needs both. Other causes may be, pregnancy, lactating and poor absorption. A deficiency may results in fatigue, weakness, loss of stamina, dizziness and headaches. In severe cases it can lead to anaemia. On the othr hand it is possible to have too much Iron, so before taking womens health supplements in iron please check with your doctor.

Vitamin C

Your body cannnot store vitamin C and needs it daily. Vitamin C comes mostly from fruits and some vegetables. As it is a water soluble vitamin it is easily excereted from the body. Vitamin C helps with the absoprtion of iron. It acts as an antioxidant and has a protective role in the body. Genetically modified food and processed food have made it difficultt to know how much Vitamin C we can absorb from food. For this reason I highly recommend this be at the top of your womens health supplements list.

Folate

You have probably heard about it’s protective role for pregnancy and preventing pregnancy defects. Research has shown that supplementing with folate has reduced the risk of nervous system problems in newborns. A deficiency can also cause osteporosis type bone fractures. As well as early dementia. Amino acids from protein work in metabolic recycling of folate. For this reason a low protein intake can also cause folate deficiency.

Protein

Simple enough, protein provides essential amino acids that are the building blocks of the body. If carbohydrates are our fuel, and fats are our oil. Then protein is the engine. Sadly many women do not get enough protein. Many protein foods come with fat and eating meat, chicken and eggs all day every day can get a bit much. The solution is whey protein. Whey protein is not just a supplement for men wanting to build muscles. It has many other benefits including weight loss and strengthening of immunity.
