Beside my fulltime job, I am going to college to do bachelors in eCommerce. Although, I am in my freshman year of college, studying at Houston Community college. Most of the classes I am taking now are fundamentals and pre-requisites courses to be able to pursue my bachelors either in Houston Community college or the University of Houston.
Besides, my fulltime job I am a seller in some public eCommerce markets such as Amazon and eBay; That is how I became passionate to be an intellectual in digital business by going to school and get a degree in eCommerce. Meanwhile, eCommerce is a combination of information technology and business. Someone with a degree in e-commerce will be able to build websites, do Marketing and analysis business. The reason I want to be a digital market expert is that people lives are more dependent on the internet more than before and in next five to ten year 77% (www.pewreaserch.com) of people will be online and do their business such as purchasing items, ordering grocery and requesting services.
When someone has a bachelor’s degree in eCommerce can work in many different positions: eCommerce executive, Marketing Directors, eCommerce Analyst are the primary profession in these fields. For instance, the annual salary for e-commerce executive in the United States ranges from $195.692 to $308,193 with the average base salary of $204,038 (www.salary.com). Also, the eCommerce job market is growing in developed countries.
According to Texas Reality Check living in Houston, my lifestyle expenses will be $73,000 annually. The lifestyle I would like to have to spend every minute of my life very happy with quality because it is short. At my current job, I do not earn that much with is calculated by RTC. Therefore, to meet my goal, I should either work two jobs or have a job with higher pay. Besides, the RTC suggested several careers that match my lifestyle expenses. Some of the careers which I am interested in are: Commercial and industrial designer, Business Operation Specialist.
New York and Los Angles are the other cities I would like to live in with the same lifestyle I want in Houston. Both of those mentioned cities are within the United States of America, very large and populous, New York and Lon Angles are found in different states and attracts thousands of visitors despite being hugely crowded and costly to live in. Comparing Houston with these two cities might have many similarities and may be attractive to some people depending on their lifestyles and preferences.
New York climate significantly differs with Los Angles and Houston. Hall & Beveridge (2013) note that in New York, the Winter is glistening and frosty and Los Angeles has winters that are incredibly mild and summers that are leisurely and warm. Houston winter much similar to Los Angeles that is mild, and summer is hot and humid. The housing characteristic is also different between New York City, Los Angeles, and Houston. As a personal experience, the New York City houses are bit older than Los Angeles and Houston. Besides, the number of homeowners in Houston is higher than in LA and NY. The career I have chosen to be a good source of income to support a reasonable lifestyle in LA and Houston, not in New York.
Participating in community service not only makes a difference to an organization and people being served, but also makes a difference to every student’s career prospects. Participating in community service activities helps to enhance student resumes by allowing students to obtain work-related skills prior to graduation, builds good references for employers in regard to community involvement, and provides a forum to network with future potential employers. It also helps students develop civic and social responsibility skills and become more aware of what their community needs.
I have learned that long-term goals are best achieved when breaking them into shorter goals. My short-term goal is to go to college and get my bachelors in eCommerce and find a position that will place in a forward moving company with solid performance and future projection. As part of a team, I want to add value and continue to grow my business or the company I will work for. My long-term goals will depend on the market situation. I plan to move into a position of responsibility where I can lead a team.
