But not the one to accept failure, DhirubhaiAmbani himself stepped up to sell his stocks directly to retailers, this daring attitude and gutsy behaviour of Mr. Ambani impressed all and soon the market for ‘VIMAL’(the name of his fabric) grew and started expanding. In no time,it became the finest, best-selling fashion fabric of its time. Increased demand of his fabric led to the higher earnings of his company and with the higher profits, DhirubhaiAmbani planned to expand his mill by adding new machineries and better facilities for workers. By 1972, Reliance became huge and thriving, a stark contrast to its starting days. 3 years later, the company received a nod of excellence from the world bank.

In August 2001 he received Lifetime achievement award for his corporate excellence by Economic Times Awards. He was posthumously awarded ABLF Global Asian Award at the Asian Business Leadership Forum Awards in October 2011. His greatest achievement was that he was posthumously awarded PADMA VIBHUSHAN, which is countries second highest civilian award.
As DhirubhaiAmbani was man of his dream, he achieved ultimate success in his life. His net worth was $6 billion in 2002 i.e $8.3 billion in 2018. After his death his business was handled by his sons MukeshAmbani& Anil Ambani but later they got split. Currently MukeshAmbani is approx. worth $44 billion and Anil Ambani is worth approx. $2 billion. DhirubhaiAmbani was one of the greatest entrepreneurs of his time not only in India but in Asia.
