I believe that it is important to live life to the fullest. It’s important to make mistakes and to get up again and do it even better. Around 98% of people die before accomplishing their dreams because they fight for so long and end up giving up for an easier route. The world is going to keep spinning even if we give up on our dreams but you will never truly be happy if you give up because of a few bumps in the road.
At an early age, I’ve always been interested in playing sports and being active. I broke my ankle in 9th grade which kept me from playing football. The doctors said I had little to no chance of playing sports ever again. This never stopped me from working on getting better. Even on the days, I felt like I was never going to get better, I still chose to fight harder because it was something I really wanted. After months of hard work and dedication, I was finally able to fully run on my ankle again. I’ve always looked up to my dad, who on the daily reminds me to never give up and if I wanted to be the best version of myself then I had to push myself a little harder each day. He is always so strict with me on being my best and it motivated me, even more, every day. His words are forever embedded in my mind. On the days I struggled to get out of bed because my ankle hurt, he would always motivate me to get up and work out with me to push me to get better. I remember how happy my dad was when I finally got back on the field because he knew that I had it in him to continue to play the game I love.
Never giving up is something that everyone should live by and carry throughout their life. One should fight the odds of success and achieve the dreams they have been trying for their whole life. It’s been shown that life can never be truly lived to its fullest unless there has been some type of struggle and pain. Mistakes and obstacles are to be learned from but not to stop one from achieving their goals. Going through a tough time can only result in making you stronger. While some people might find themself alone when they are struggling which leads them to give up but every single person struggles with something. You just have to remember why you started in the first place.
Even during the harsh practices that seemed like they went on for hours, I never gave up on trying after falling many times. I never wanted to quit trying because I knew that the result would be worth it. The falls we have in our life are the things that will motivate us to get up and try again. If you give up you will spend the rest of your life wondering what would’ve happened if you would have tried just a little bit harder.
