It seems like in today’s day and age Earth is ever changing. Temperatures are increasing, which leads to a decrease in landmarks. Global warming is one of the most political, widely, ongoing, and controversial topics in the US for its debate involving nature, daily human activity, and whether global warming is real or not. Though as science becomes more clear, the consensus of whether humans are the cause becomes more vast. The greatest challenge facing earth today is global warming.
To say there is only one cause of global warming would be an understatement. There are an astonishing amount of factors that affect how much of the sun's energy reaches Earth's surface and how much of that energy gets absorbed. Those include greenhouse gases, particles in the atmosphere, and changes in energy from the sun. Greenhouse gases are carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide. It captures the solar heats rays from escaping Earth’s surface. Though, this has caused the temperature of earth to increase. Volcanic eruptions are another global warming cause. For example, a single volcanic eruption will release ash and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When carbon dioxide increases, so does the temperature and greenhouses will trap solar radiations.
The issues are both natural and human based. The human influence has become a very serious issue primarily due to the little care people have. In real actuality, humans worsen global warming more than natural causes. Earth has been altering due to the modern lifestyle of humans. Certain activities include burning fossil fuel, industrial production, mining, cattle rearing, and deforestation. These issues date back to the Industrial Revolution and since then fossil fuels power these machines. An everyday necessity for humans are their mobile devices. Although what is not highlighted is the process of making the phone. It involve machines that use fossil fuels, and this process has carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Along with industrial, transportation such as cars is another way carbon dioxide is released from exhaust.
Another issue is mining. During the process of mining, methane will get stuck below the earth. Rearing cattle will also cause methane because cattle release it in the form of manure. However, cattle is important because it makes the latter equally responsible for the occurrence of global warming. Deforestation is another human influenced issue from cutting down trees to wood, producing papers, and building houses. If people continue deforestation, human breathing that release carbon dioxide will stay in the atmosphere. However, the problem is the divide it has created with the believers and non believers of global warming. Rather than arguing who is to blame, the matter of fact is Earth is deteriorating day by day. We as a nation only can prevent it from happening. However, a majority of people have little to no care about global warming due to the fact it doesn't affect them directly. Greed has poisoned souls, keeping us from seeing the harsh reality that faces earth on a daily basis.
Current trends adequately display the direct effects that earth is experiencing called planetary crisis. This implies there is a convergence of accelerating climate change, unprecedented loss of biodiversity, and increasing human health issues caused by a toxic environment. Since 1970, earth has lost one third of its wildlands and within that time, 50% of land animals have disappeared. The arctic and the poles are in critical condition. Polar ice caps are melting, resulting in temperature increase and the North Pole’s ice melting. Once the ice melts the first effect will be rise on sea levels because melting glaciers become oceans. Another effect is habitat loss for certain species. Glaciers are melting rapidly, leaving little to no habitat for penguins, polar bears, seals and other mammals. Along with land mammals, a numerous amount of birds will migrate to other places because they cannot adapt to a changes in their habitat and climate. One third of the world’s coral reefs, have vanished. The situation in which we find ourselves is not just dire for all these species that can become extinct, but can very well threaten the very existence of our own species. Its hard to be indifferent when these effects are all habitat related. We have one home that holds a variety of homes for all living creatures. Animals are losing their homes that can ultimately lead to extinction of certain species.
Climate change is accelerating, vast amounts of biodiversity are decreasing, and human health issues are rising due to toxic environment. Diseases such as Malaria and Zika Virus could become world wide. Hurricanes and other storms are will likely comes stronger and more powerful. On the other hand, droughts and floods will become more common. Less fresh water will be available, leaving people from different countries stranded because they rely on the water for electricity and their only source of water. The economic impact global warming has is drastically increasing year by year. More economic consequences due to hurricane damages will continue. The government spends billions of dollars in damages, building, and migration. When humans pass away, diseases are more serious due to it spreading from person to person fast and more people are likely to catch the disease because of climate change.
Now there are solutions that we can stop this. How to reduce global warming? We can reduce the contribution of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. For instance, reducing gasoline, electricity and our activities that cause global warming. To reduce gasoline there are choices to choose a hybrid car that reduce using gasoline, taking public transport or carpool to work. These options can help reduce carbon dioxide and save cost. Using less gas and saving up on the energy use. Recycling is another way. When there is a reduction in garbage by reusing plastic bags, bottles, papers or glass less carbon dioxide is let out. It can save thousands of carbon dioxide and buy product that have energy saving because it saves cost and save environment. Finally, human should stop open burning such as burning dry leafs or burning garbage. It will release carbon dioxide and toxic if burning garbage with plastic. Lastly, eat less meat to conserve the cows that help carbon dioxide.

Along with Leonardo’s effects to collaborate with different organization and leaders, he also puts his create talent into films. He makes movies advocating and showing the real causes of climate change through the silver screen. We are the future generation and need to make the world a better place for the sake of us.
