As we all are aware that, physical fitness level of Maldivians, specially the youngergeneration is getting weak and fatigue. Many researches and reports has beenprevailed on this issue. And to this reason, we took our time to do a survey among the students of Villa College, QI Campus. As most of the students are teenagers or in the age of 18-40, we spared our time to find out the reason why most of the students are unable to stay Physically fit, or unable to do some daily chores due tothe health conditions risen by being physically unfit.Our research gave an insider of what is really happening amongst the younggeneration. 6/10 students we interviewed said that they do have an unhealthyhabit of smoking and more than 50% of the students have said that the barrier with them being physically fit, is the Gyms/fitness classes being too expensive.

Physical fitness is an important factor in the ability of people to perform routinedaily activities and also an -ant issue from a public health perspective. The term “physical fitness” has been defined as the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigor and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy leisure- time pursuits and respond to emergencies. It includes multiple components, including cardiorespiratory fitness (endurance or aerobic power), musculoskeletal fitness, flexibility, balance, and speed of movement. “Physical fitness causes improvements in health outcomes or physical activity can lead to improved physical fitness as a health outcome” (Buchner and David, 2018).

As physical fitness and physical activity are connected to each other, the available evidence suggests that physical activity and physical fitness interact in their effects on a variety of health outcomes. By conducting a survey related to health history and current Exercise history and Attitude among the students of Villa College QI Campus, we would like to ensure the current physical fitness level of our students, and what is limiting us to be physically fit.

The main cause for assessing the study about physical fitness in the Villa College, QI Campus is due the increasing number of physically unfit people due to the negligence of ourselves. Mostly due to unhealthy diet plans and inactiveness in sporty or physical activities. As known, most of us are aware that major cases of heart problems and diabetic related issues are caused because of our own negligence in taking care of our body. Our main goal at the end of this research is to help, Replace sedentary behaviors, making sensible choices about how, when, and where to be active, suggest some key steps to increase physical activity and health awareness among college students.

To get the best results and not just assume and make a survey, we interviewed some selected students from the Villa College QI Campus and handed over a questionnaire. We also took some verbal interview and collected their Ideas about physical fitness. General fitness is an essential part of physical health. It implies having a good bodyweight as well as being able to deliver physical activities without being quickly and easily exhausted. Physical fitness is a fundamental state of well-being. This survey was conducted by questioning random students at the IQ campus to fill a questionnaire regarding general fitness. Ten participants with the same number of male and female were questioned during the survey. The age of each participant was between 18 and 40 years old. The participants were already taking part in their regular activities for general fitness.

The charts below describes the analysis of data followed by a discussion of the research findings. Data were analyzed to identify and explore unhealthy diet holders and those whose life is and has been at risk due to being inactive in physical activities. Both male and female students were surveyed equally with a total count of 10, who were taken randomly from different courses from Villa College. 60% of respondents were aged 19-25% while the rest were aged 27-38 years old. We conducted a health history and an exercise history as it is an essential for optimal performance.

According to Figure.1, the majority of respondents (70%) said that there were heart problems in immediate family, while the other 30% said that there were none. However, none of the respondents answered that they had experienced any heart attacks or strokes. It is stated by (Palazzolo, 2013) when compared to the effects of smoking, the scarce available literature suggests that vaping could be a “harm reduction” substitute to smoking thereby a possible means for smoking interruption. However Alternative tobacco products contain harmful chemicals and toxins that have health risks. The chemicals and toxins may cause serious health problems, includingcancer (Board, 2018).

Strength training plays an important role in reducing risk of premature death from all causes, and specifically, from cancer- and when it comes to cancer, strength work maybe even more beneficial to health than aerobic training (Archer, 2018). This study found that two of the members participated on the survey was not engaged in any regular physical activity, Guidelines state that adults should move more and sit less throughout the day. Some physical activity is better than none. Adults who sit less and do any amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity gain some health benefits, (Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, 2018) We have also noticed that majority of members nagged in regular exercise programs focused only on achieving a specific fitness goal but avoiding the other major components physical fitness. Furthermore study determines members who are trying to lose weight are often engaged in cardio respiratory activities and members engaged more on strength training for building muscles or shaping up.

It is vital to know the importance of physical activity and importance of physical fitness , regardless of their gender orage. As per results we found out that the majority of the participant’s families had a history of heart problems and it was generally agreed that participants are unable to engage in regular exercise due to lack of time because of their busy schedule. Moreover, majority of the participants who are exercising, mentioned that their favourite exercise is strength training. There are very simple steps that can improve the quality of our lives, like taking healthy foods and regular exercise. But still we are unable to do these simple steps. We should encourage Villa College to give out lecturers about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and promoting healthy foodsat the canteen. And also, another step which can lead the students to be physically fit is by arranging fitness classes which would include cardio, strength training and endurance exercises in one session. As per Hubbard, “if you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want”.
