Here are 12 principles that form the basis of business ethics, and are what you need to hold yourself accountable to:

Honesty

You need to be honest in all of your actions, and every communication you make. When people see you making honest decisions, they start to trust your company because you’re not only being truthful, you’re being upfront and candid. People appreciate the fact they can take you at your word, as customers only ever do business with those they trust. Being an ethical executive means you do not deceive others by misrepresenting the facts, overstating and exaggerating or only giving partial truths. If you’ve inadvertently given the wrong impression, provide the relevant information to your customers and correct their misunderstanding as soon as possible.

Integrity

Being ethical in business means maintaining a high level of personal integrity. This is how you earn the trust of others, whether they are your customers, team or your superiors. In this definition integrity means having a consistent character that is demonstrated by an alignment of your thoughts, words and action. Sometimes it requires you to have moral courage to do the right thing, and it takes inner strength to live up to mistakes and admit when a fault has been made. Despite a great pressure to do otherwise, ethical business managers live by a moral code they believe in, principles to maintain and they fight for their beliefs – without sacrificing their honor for the sake of just getting a job done.

Keeping Your Promises

Your word is one of the most important tools in your arsenal as a business manager. Keep every promise that you make, and always fulfill a commitment. The trust you build as an ethical executive means people like doing business with you, as you take every reasonable effort to fulfill not only the letter, but the spirit of the promises and commitments you have made. You can learn more about building trust in a business in this course. Don’t every twist your words to rationalize or get out of contracts, or justify why it’s okay to not comply to a commitment. Just do what you said you were going to do.

Loyalty

You need to be loyal to both your company, your team and yourself, while operating within a strong moral compass. If you demonstrate your loyalty it builds trust, and shows that you place a high value on advancing the interests of both the company and your colleagues. You should not ever place loyalty above your other principles, or use it as an excuse for unethical behavior. Demonstrate your loyalty but always make an independent judgment, and never use information that you have gained in confidence for your own personal advancement. Steer clear of conflicts of interest, and if you ever decide to leave your company do it on the best of terms. Give reasonable notice, respect any information that was gained in your former employer, and never engage in activities that take advantage of a previous position that was held.

Fair

In all of your actions, you must strive to be fair and just. An ethical executive is committed to fairness in all that they do, and do not seek to exercise their power for an unfair advantage or use indecent methods to gain a competitive edge. They also never take undue advantage of another person’s difficulties and mistakes. Being an ethical executive means that you are committed to being fair, employ justice in your decisions and treat all people equally, with tolerance and acceptance of diversity. Being fair also means being open minded, admitting when they have made a mistake, and adjusting their beliefs and positions when it is appropriate.

Caring

This involves having a genuine concern for others, as well as a sense of compassion. An ethical business manager is caring, benevolent and kind to both customers and staff, and seeks to reach their goals while causing the least amount of harm and the greatest amount of good. Being caring means understanding that there will be an impact on every stakeholder following a decision, and they always consider the financial, emotional and long term business consequences of an action. They don’t simply discount the needs of others.

Respect

Being ethical means treating everyone with respect, demonstrating this by being courteous and having an equal treatment of people regardless of who they are. Respect is given because everyone deserves dignity, privacy and rights, and they adhere to the rule that you must strive to treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Obeying the law

An ethical executive always obeys the law, and never breaks the rules, regulations or laws surrounding their business activities.

Excellence

Being ethical in business is also about pursuing excellence in everything that you do. Delivering the highest quality of service or products makes business sense, especially if there is a constant endeavor to always improve.

Being a Leader

You need to demonstrate the principles and ethics you want your team to live by, and take an active role as a leader to be a positive role model. The best way you can enforce an ethical mentality is to lead by example, and creating an environment within your business that values decisions made on principles and standards of ethics. You can learn more about the ways you can approach being a leader in this recent post.

Morale

Ethical business managers enhance the good reputation of a company, which at the same time boosts the morale if its employees. The company reputation is very important, as well as the pride and morale of their employees. As an ethical business manager you need to avoid taking actions that undermine this respect, and they take action to correct any inappropriate behavior of others.

Accountable

Being ethical means holding yourself accountable, and acknowledging and accepting personal accountability for their decisions, and any consequences. Not just personally, but an ethical manager will stand up and take accountability in front of their colleagues, their company, and the community.

Holding yourself and your business to these standards will ensure you’re not only covered against any wrongdoings, (if you follow these principles you can’t do anything wrong), but you’ll impress customers and staff alike, and build a strong sense of trust with all of your stakeholders. This is the foundation that takes your company to the success that it deserves to reach!

Punctuality:- The fact of respect the time constraints for respecting others and make it productive in sense of using it in a good way.

Below are 3 tips for being punctual.

Make Being Prompt a Priority.

The first step in becoming punctual is accepting that you have a punctuality problem. Then, realize that it’s not a cute or quirky character trait. Instead, it’s a habit that’s having a negative impact on your career, on your business, and/or on your relationships.

Make a commitment to drop the tardiness habit and become punctual.

Know Why You Want to Be Punctual.

Whenever you want to create a new habit, you need to be very clear on the reasons why you want to build that habit. The more reasons you have for wanting to adopt a new habit, and the stronger those reasons are, the more likely it is that you’ll be able to make the new habit stick.

Sit down with a pen and a piece of paper and ask yourself what you’ll gain by overcoming your tardiness habit and adopting a habit of punctuality, instead. You can write down things like the following:

  • Being on time will help you to cut down on stress (after all, few things are as stressful as always running late).
  • Being on time will reduce friction with your co-workers; nobody likes to be kept waiting.
  • Being on time will let your boss know that you can be counted on, which could lead to a promotion.

Be very clear on the benefits that you’ll gain by being punctual, and then keep reminding yourself of those benefits in order to motivate yourself to become someone who’s prompt.

Track How Long Tasks Take.

A lot of people who are constantly late have trouble determining how long it takes them to perform different tasks; even those tasks that they perform on a regular basis. For example, they might think that it takes them 25 minutes to get ready in the mornings, when the reality is that it takes them a lot longer than that.

Knowing our self in sense of benefits:

Bliss and fulfillment are all the more effortlessly achieved when you can utilize your qualities in the administration of a reason you put stock in. We are altogether interestingly capable and have the best limit with respect to development and improvement in zones we as of now exceed expectations in. It hence takes after that we have the best open doors for learning and accomplishing perfection when we take part in work that enables us to use our particular qualities and capacities.

This is the reason it is imperative to comprehend your identity, what you’re great at and what you need before you even start to think about your grant choices. Effects of culture and environment on ones behaviour:

Culture and environment place an important role in one’s life culture and environment makes the look of an individual from very first day from birth until the last day his behavior and clothing sense and response for day to day life in contest to culture one can learn things from family about culture and rituals related to his culture .These are basically practices and principals that older people of family flows to their upcoming generation, for example like for a born baby their nothing as a religion for a baby but parents told us that these are rituals and principles and we belongs to this religion then that baby start following that practices and believing in that religion. As a result of that cultural effects I bound to that practices and always care about that things whenever I am in society these rituals are now confined to my body and mind as in believe in them from my childhood.

Below are just a few examples of how the environment can impact you.

  1. The environment can facilitate or discourage interactions among people. For example, an inviting space with comfortable chairs and privacy can encourage a family to stay and visit with a patient.
  2. The environment can influence people’s behavior and motivation to act. For example, a dingy corridor filled with extra hospital equipment will invite staff to leave another item in the hall, whereas a clean corridor and adequate storage will encourage staff to take the time to put the item away.
  3. The environment can influence mood. For example, the results of several research studies reveal that rooms with bright light, both natural and artificial, can improve health outcomes such as depression, agrition and sleep.

No matter what we do, culture is part of the society we live in; whether it is our culture by birth or the culture of the new country in which we reside.

I truly believe we are born with a unique fingerprint that includes three things: first, the ethnicity of that person which includes the distinct DNA of each parent; second, the culture of both parents; and third, kindness, which I believe is innate in all human beings at birth.

So here we are at birth with our unique fingerprint made up of ethnicity, culture, and kindness. But before I continue with this train of thought, I think it would be very useful to give you my definition of some of the words we are going to use.

Your culture is like water and you are the fish. You are mostly unaware of the cultural values you hold until you interact with others of a different culture or learn of other cultures through education and investigation. Your cultural matrix initially provide you with a world view, value system, and a way of interacting with people of your own culture with a almost esp like set of protocols.

The difference between a human and a fish is intelligence. With intelligence you can become conscious of how your cultural protocols and even change some aspects of your culture. Your culture can totally dominate your life or to varying degrees you can modify your behavior to go contrary to your cultural programming.

Starting with the family, then peer groups, and neighbors, schools, and the arts we grow up with cultural values much like a computer program. The majority never question their programing and take it as natural, the norm, the only way. Others rise above their programming and are able to step outside and look at their culture objectively. Others grow to hate their culture and actively rebel against it.

One important aspect of culture, especially in the Canadian Culture is that it is dynamic and no static. It is constantly changing. Many refuse to change with the culture, often called traditionalist, and many others often try to manipulate the change, often called progressives. But in many ways it is the social matrix the make up the character and behavior of a people group.

Yes I recoganized my strength and I already starting working on it by taking initiatives towards it to be a skilled person in that particular field AS I consider my strength there a lots of which I can demonstrate but here I want to discuss one of my skills regarding computers and its network. As my father is a network analyst and I have basic knowledge regarding network and computer stuff from my childhood and in other words I got that knowledge from my father as ritual and I have already started working on it and I take it as professional field and I enrolled myself in one of the course related to networking and I usually update myself regarding basic updation whats new to the system.
