Importance of these energy sources will continue to increase as society shifts toward renewable energy to tackle many of the environmental issues brought about by man’s historically toxic practices, like coal mining, nuclear fusion and fracking. These renewable energy sources also offer imminent financial benefits, as it becomes cheaper to produce and implement them. The figure below shows that solar energy is one of the fastest growing renewable energy sources. It proffers quite an excellent solution to the issue of our ever-reducing finite resources. Solar power also brings along energy “security” because it is drawn from the earth’s most abundant resource, the sun. This portends that, solar energy will be a worthwhile option for energy as long as the sun exists.
