Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was born January 15, 1929. He was a Baptist minister and from Atlanta, Georgia where he fought for social justice. He is a most widely known black leader of his era. King’s Triple evils are poverty, racism, and militarism. They are all forms of violence, all interrelated, and all barriers to living in the beloved community. He uses principles of non-violence, forgiveness, faith, and forgiveness.
Poverty involves hunger, unemployment, malnutrition, and homelessness. Dr. King believes that no nation can be great that does not carry for those who have nothing. Militarism involves terrorism, war, violent crimes, domestic violence, and more. Dr. King believes that no nation will unite without equality. Racism involves stereotypes, discrimination, prejudices, sexism and more targeted towards certain people. Dr. King believes that hatred and violence are no basis for a just nation.
In order to break the cycle with these three barriers of poverty, racism, and militarism use nonviolence to create. Dr. King also has six principles of nonviolence. These are a guide to his six nonviolent steps to create social change as a solution to the triple evils. The Beloved community is a place where all people are equal and share wealth. The triple evils will not be permitted.
Trump has a racist comfort zone. He built his campaign on it and has never back away from it. Several of the people who work for him have histories of being prejudice. Racism has always been an issue in the world past and present. Following Trumps election, the racial incidents definitely increased. It seems as if more people accepted racism since he has been in the white house. Trump does not want to correct anything. He believes that he is right, and he knows best. If the president sees nothing wrong with racism in America, some people will feel like it is right also. People now feel more comfortable being themselves (racist) because of his presidency.
With Trump in the White House, racists have been emboldened. They are upfront and out in the open without fear of reprisal. There is no attempt politically correct. Militarily, Trump is using foreign aid to countries to blackmail or bribe them into doing his political bidding. He has sold out the Kurds (a religious group in Turkey and Syria). The Kurds were helping the US fight Isis.
Now that Trump feels that they are of no use to us, he has abandoned them. They are being killed and forced out of their homes. Trump has made the divide between the haves and the have nots even wider. He has cut social services and has given tax breaks to the rich. Therefore, the tax burden falls more on the middle class. The poor have less of a chance to break the cycle of poverty. The middle class is slowly disappearing and the rich get richer.
