The movie is all about Gatsby, an army, who is inlove with a girl named, Daisy. When Gatsby was sent to a war, he and Daisy did not see each other again. Daisy met another man and marries him. After five years, Gatsby returned, since he new that Daisy was already married, he tried his best to win Daisy back, so he do any thing and whatever it takes just to get Daisy. After that scenario, Gatsby was an instant millionaire after he saved a millionaire that was drowning in the ocean. So since Gatsby is already rich and Daisy, too, there they already have time to each other since the social status of both are equal.

The husband of Daisy, Tom, caught them together and the secrets were revealed. So Daisy, rush out with Gatsby and hits a woman and died, but she just let her be. But Tom know the husband of the girl that Daisy hits. Since Daisy cannot accept that she is the one who hits the woman, she pushes the sin she made to Gatsby. The husband of the woman that Daisy hits seeks revenge, unfortunately, he killed Gatsby by a gun. But the responsible of both deaths was really by Daisy, first is the woman she hits and now Gatsby. In the last part of the movie, Daisy and Tom were really are together. But one person knows all the secrets, it is Nick Carraway, Gatsby’s neighbour and friend.

A Feminism Approach is what I see in the film. according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Feminism is ‘the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. In the film The Great Gatsby, the mean there were described in terms of where they live and what they do. On the other hand, women is described based on the way they look, the way they dressed and also the relationship of to the men.

“ ‘I wouldn’t think of changing the light’, cried Mrs. McKee. ‘I think its-‘”.

In the analyzation of this quote, McKee always get interrupted by his husband while giving her opinion, showing that women are less important in giving their opinions in this time.

“… the dispute ended in a short struggle, and both wives were lifted, kicking, into the night”.

In this time, man controlled their wives, not only controlled but also man-handled them. So they were not only controlled by the words they speak but also controls their actions.

Over all, the movie was worth to watch. Especially to I, that is a fan of romantic drama movies. As we can see from The great gatsby movie review  that movie showed and  taught us that having a great wealth in life, you can never taste that satisfaction when you didn’t get what you really want, which is love.
