Introduction

A tower is ''a building or structure typically higher than its diameter and high relative to its surroundings that may stand apart or be attached to a larger structure and that may be fully walled in or of skeleton framework'' (Merriam-webster.com, 2019). There are a lot of famous towers around the world, but the most famous two are Eiffel and Pisa towers. Millions of tourists around the world chose these two towers as the best towers they visit in their lives.

This essay will compare and contrast these two towers in terms of location, constructions and design, and tourist.

Location

Both towers are located in Europe but in different countries. Pisa Tower is located in Pisa, Italy. Pisa is a small town in Italy counting about 91000 residents. The tower itself is located in 'Square of Miracles'', in the northern part of Pisa, about 1 km from the town(Bronzini, 2019). On the other hand, The Eiffel Tower is located in Champ De Mars, Paris, France.

It is so easy to identify the location of the tower because it located in the city of France in the 5 Avenue Anatole of Champ De Mars. (Landmarks and Tower, 2019)

Construction

In addition, the construction and the design of both buildings are more than fabulous. The construction of Pisa Tower began in August 1173 and the name of the architect has been a mystery until now. They used over 14,000 tons of stones, marble, and limestone. The tower took 200 years to finish. In 1370 the tower was officially completed. The tower is white in color and cylinder in shape.

Moreover, the height of the tower is 57 m and it has eight stories. The bottom story consists of 15 marble arches. While the stories above contain 30 arches. The final story is the bell chamber that has 16 arches (Leaning Tower of Pisa, 2018). Meanwhile, they start working on Eiffel Tower 28th January 1887 by Maurice koechlin and Emile Nouguier. They used 150 workers in the Levallois Perret factory, 150 to 300 workers on constriction site, 2,500,000 rivets, 7,300 tons of iron and 60 tons of paint.it took them 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to finish the tower completely. On 31st March 1889, the tower was officially completed. The Eiffel Tower has a goldish brown color with parabola shape. Also, the height of the tower is 300 m, 324 m to the tip. The tower consists of four legs in the bottom connected to one tip and there are only three floors in the tower. (La Tour Eiffel, 2019)

Tourists

Both Pisa and Eiffel landmarks are very famous and attract numerous tourists each year. The Pisa Tower attracts over 5,000,000 tourists per year. There are many things to do in Pisa Tower for example climbing the top of the tower, taking a guided tour to learn about the history of the leaning tower, taking nice photos, visiting the Duomo and museum (museum of cathedral) and going inside the baptistery(Heath, 2019). On the other hand, the Eiffel Tower attracts over 7,000,000 tourists per year. In Eiffel Tower, there are a lot of nice things to do such as climbing the tower to its end and learn about its history, enjoying breakfast or lunch in the lawns that surround the tower, visiting the Rodin Museum that takes only 15 minutes walking from the Eiffel Tower. Conclusion

To conclude, both the Eiffel Tower and Pisa Tower are amazing and gorgeous landmarks. Both towers are located in Europe, and each of them was constructed at different time and by using different types of materials. They are very important worldwide, and many people would like to visit them.
