March 2, 2020 Abortion is the procedure of fetus removal that intentionally ends human pregnancy, which is very sensitive to talk about, especially for women. A lot of women tend to go the easier way and abort their child, while they never even consider the possibility of giving birth to an innocent child. Today, abortion should be restricted because women are reclaiming and reinterpreting abortion as their “back-up birth control method”, resulting in a reduction of adoptions, increse in sucide, and going against the Islamic religion.
Abortion reduces the number of adoptable children, resulting in no chance for those who want to be a child owner. Instead of having the option to abort it, women should give their unwanted child to people that can not conceive. Throughout the years, there has been a “lack of women putting their children up for adoption” (National Review). According to the National Review, “Infant adaptations dropped from about 90,000 in 1971 to 18,329 in 2014 and now around 2.6 million people are seeking to adopt children.” If a woman is not ready to start a new chapter because of their own reasons, they should let their child continue its life with someone that is willing to take all the responsibilities.
Moreover, abortion is a risky procedure that can increase the effect of remorse that leads to suicide. Let alone, mental and physical health concerns such as, depression, breast cancer, infection, and many more, that also affect women eventually. As soon as a woman finds out she is pregnant, she starts to make radical decisions. These radical decisions come from being overwhelmed, upset, and lonely because there is no one to guide them. Though, the minute the mother makes that decision, they know there is no turning back. But, most women start to criticize the actions they have done as days pass by, which results in sucide thoughts. Emotional pain and remorse are the two main reasons why people commit suicide, which proves that 'the suicide rate associated with abortion is 6 times higher than the suicide rate associated with childbirth.' (De Veber). Can anyone deny that it is not worth going all through these thoughts just for the mother’s self-orientation?
Furthermore, the Qur'an is the 'Islamic book, believed to be the word of God…” (Oxford) and it is expressed that abortion is wrong and haram (forbidden) in the Islamic religion. Qur'an states 'Whosoever has spared the life of a soul, it is as though he has spared the life of all people. Whosoever has killed a soul, it is as though he has murdered all of mankind' (Qur'an 5:32). Going against God's words is seen to be unfaithful and committing a sin. It is considered a sin because you are murdering an innocent human being. Also, a lot of women bring up financial problems as their excuse to abort their child but, the Qur’an emphasizes “... not [to] kill your children with the worry of poverty. We will give them to you too. Surely killing them is a great crime' (Quran Isra 31). So 'do not kill the life that God has forbidden - unjustly ' (Quran Isra 151). You should accept the responsibility and always protect your unborn child from assault and murder no matter what.
Abortion should be restricted as it distroys the original meaning of creating lives. It is simply a self-oriented decision that causes a reduction of adoptions, increase in sucide, and going against the Islamic religion. Women are not going to be impeccable if they keep on committing murders of ingenuous children that do not know beans about his existence. Instead of making radical decisions so fast, they should develop empathy for the unborn child. No one would want their life to be taken away, so think twice before taking away others.
