I believe kids should be able to eat wherever they want during lunch time. There are many reasons they should be able to do this. The first reason is that kids will be happier when they are eating lunch. Another reason is kids might not like smelling the lunch room, which will cause them to lose their appetite. The last reason is that when kids have choices of where they want to sit, they might be more willing to learn in class.
The first reason is that kids will be happier when they are eating lunch. For example 84% of kids say they should have free seating during lunch, according to debate.org. Kids will be happier in class if they eat in the location of their choosing. Kids might feel uncomfortable sitting with some kids that they don’t like. Some kids don’t like other kids. Some other kids might be mean to them. Kids will be uncomfortable sitting next to some random kid. From my experience kids do not like meeting or sitting next to new kids. Some kids do not want to sit next to a kid because he or she doesn't have good manners one time someone spilled their food all over me.
Another reason is kids might not like smelling the lunch room which will cause them to lose their appetite. For example when I was younger someone was eating banana yogurt next to me. I don't like bananas and they got the yogurt all over me. This ruined my whole day and I had trouble focusing on my school work the rest of the day.
