This report will be about a battle that happened in w w 2 that was called d day it took place on the the 4th of june 1944 this attack was one of the most bostress and brave attacks in the history of war at that point. the operation was under control of general eisenhower The attack was also known as operation overlord in operation overlord there were somewhat of about 156,000 british american and canadian forces that landed in the lead up to the attack the germans thoghts
the allies were going to attack a different part of france so the beaches were not fully prepared so could you imagine what the casualties would be if the beaches were fully prepare i think we would of lost the battle the attack was delayed multiple times because of the not so good weather conditions if they were to of fight in those weather conditions it would of made it alot more harder to land on the beaches because of the ruff seas and not being able to see as much for the fog.
The nazies new that there would be delays on attacks and at the time the attacks were initially going to happen there were not enough front line capable men the battle was known as the beginning of the end of the war in europe which was were the most of the battling happened even though there were battles almost every where in the world europe had seen the worst of w w 2 battles.
By 1943 the war was clearly going to be won by the allies and it was what happened the reason people thought they were going to win was because they had won very important battle in africa and the united states of america kept on advancing on japans on their front lines and constantly pushing them back until they were back into their own nation. The russians had maneged to take out the exstreem leader and fashinest of italy who helped the axsis (nazi germany)
The reson for it hapaning was so that the alies of w w 2 could intarupy nazi germanys overtacking of west urope the alies were (the united kingdom also known as briton, the soviet unuion also known as U S S R , the united states of america and canada ) when they won it meant that they could start pushing nazi germany back and back untill they gave up

After the battle of d day (oporation over lord) the british and canadian forces kept on pushing there way up france so they could push them out of france by the 17th of june some what of about half a million troops kept on landing on the beach so they could continue the invasion
The supreme comander was general Dwight D. eisenhower who was the leader of the d day attack and meany outher battles that changed the events of the war One of the leaders in france was a man callesd charels andre marie he helped in the battle of D day and he also suporting of the french resistance who were the people who rebeled after the nazis took over france the french resistane were people that worked in groups to help drive the nazis out of france they were the people who maneged to get underground
I think it is very important to remember about the war beacause millions of people gave up there lifes just for our freedom and our ability to have rites as human beings instead if slaves wich is how the nazis would of treated us if they one and we probaly would of got teated worse after the war beacause they would of wanted more and more done to help re-build the germans home land witch they called the father land. The bit i have found most intreasting about the war was lerning about the generals of the war who lead the difrant people into difrant battles
